page. This has been a very interesting year to say the least.
Drought, rain, and then the ice, so much for global warming. We went
to pasture with very dry conditions and not very much grass, it was very
much on our minds as to what the cows were going to be eating very early
in the grass season, then about mid July, God decided we had had
enough, he started to give us some very timely rains and we could even
shut off the irrigation wells which was GREAT! We really ended with
more grass than we started with.
Weaning went very well, and the calves stayed
healthy and kept growing without a hitch. Weaning weights were very
impressive as you can see in the sale
catalog book. We feel we have one of the best set of bulls
and females ever offered at Taubenheim
Gelbvieh Production sale. With the great demand for BEEF, the
cattle markets are hanging in there for a little profit.
We hope the Gelbvieh cattle can keep up the
good work of grading and making the grid! As you can see on our ads (below
on this page) a Taubenheim-Sired steer was Grand Champion Steer at the
National Junior Show in South Dakota this past summer and also won the
Grid Merit contest at the show. We were very proud of
that accomplishment and hope we can keep raising cattle that work this
well in your herds. The Reserve Champion Pen of Three Balancer bulls
sell at our February
4th sale so
be on hand for a great set of bulls and females. Come early to look over
the cattle and have a BEEF lunch!!!!!
